Longboat Key Beaches

Unless you are a resident, there is little available in the way of public beaches on Longboat Key. There are, however, several beach access points with free limited parking. As a result, the beach that stretches the entire length of Longboat Key is not crowded and a good spot for shelling. Sand dollars are plentiful at times near the sandbars just off the shoreline.

Tennis and golf enthusiasts will especially appreciate this island. Longboat Key is the only barrier island in the Sarasota area with a golf course. The private Longboat Key Club offers tennis and 45 holes of golf.
